Step-by-Step Written Instructions

Purpose

Add or update a church campus/location — its address, phone, email, and worship/service times — so the details show on the location's own page and on the homepage.

Why it's this easy: churchthemes.com themes ship with the Church Content plugin, which gives you a dedicated Locations content type. Instead of building a page from scratch, you fill in the blanks. (Other WordPress themes handle locations differently — this SOP is specific to the churchthemes.com setup.)

Scope note: Getting the map to display is the trickiest part and is intentionally out of scope here — follow the separate map-setup video/SOP for that.


Procedure

Phase 1 — Open the location

  1. Go to the WordPress dashboard.
  2. In the side panel, click Locations.
  3. Click the location/campus you want to edit (e.g., Hyannis Campus). To add a brand-new one, use Add New instead.

Phase 2 — Set the location title

  1. Set or retitle the location name at the top (e.g., Example Church).

Phase 3 — Fill in the details (block editor)

  1. In the page body — the WordPress block editor — add as much or as little detail as you want. Typically:

    • Address
    • Phone number
    • Email address
    • Worship / service times
  2. (The block editor has all the standard content blocks; using those is covered in a separate video.)

Phase 4 — Map (separate step)

  1. Leave the map for its own process — it's the fiddly part. When you're ready, follow the dedicated map-setup video/SOP.

Phase 5 — Save

  1. Click Update Location (or Publish, if this is a new location).

Phase 6 — Verify it displays

  1. Confirm the details show on the location's own page, and then check the homepage — the theme lists the location there too. Make sure both look right.

Outcome

A location page for the campus with its address, phone, email, and worship times filled in, displaying correctly on both its own dedicated page and the homepage. (Map configuration handled separately via the map-setup SOP.)
