How to Add a PDF Link to a Page

This solution is designed for those who want to add a link to a file such as a bulletin or worship folder to a WordPress page.


This is a two-step process:

  1. Upload the PDF to the Media Library
  2. Add a hyperlink to the PDF on the page


Step 1 - Upload the PDF to the Media Library

Go the WordPress Media Library and click Add New


Click on Select Files


Step 2 - Add a hyperlink to the PDF 

On the Page (or Post or Sermon or Event, etc.) you're editing, click on Add Media


Select the PDF you want to insert, then click Insert Into Post


Click on the hyperlink, then on the "pencil" icon


Click on the "gear" icon


The Link Text field needs to be edited


Chang the Link Text, check the box which says Open link a new tab, then click Update
